Key Information
Most learners complete the course in 6–12 months, depending on how many hours they can commit each week.
You must achieve 36 credits in total, with at least 21 credits at Level 4 or above.
After completing the Level 4 CET, you can: Apply for teaching or training roles in adult, community, or workplace education.
Assessment is through a mix of:
Written assignments. Evidence of lesson planning. Observed and assessed teaching practice. A portfolio of evidence showing your learning and progress.
This course is TQUK-accredited and the Montessori component is TQUK-endorsed.

Entry requirements
There is no requirement for learners to complete the Level 3 Award in Education and Training before beginning the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. However, learners who have already achieved the Level 3 unit: “Understanding Roles, Responsibilities and Relationships in Education and Training” will be exempt from repeating this unit as part of the Level 4 qualification. To claim exemption, learners must provide evidence of achievement in the form of a recognised certificate, and centres must retain a copy for their records. This qualification is open to all learners aged 19 and above. There are no formal academic entry requirements, but you’ll need to be able to carry out at least 30 hours of teaching practice in a real classroom or training setting
Qualification requirements
To achieve the TQUK Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training, learners must complete a minimum of 36 credits drawn from two unit groups. In addition, learners are required to complete a minimum of 30 hours of teaching practice, which must include observed and assessed sessions to demonstrate competence.
